  2. 2013 – 2014 Florida Governor Matthew Cantrell’s “STEPS TO EXCELLENCE” ACTIVITIES January 9THMeeting INVOCATION Heavenly Father, Help us to remember that we are here to serve, not to be served. Remind us daily of the many who need to be helped. Guide us to be there for others and assist them in times of need. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen Round-table discussion and planning of our community projects. From: “Invocations for Kiwanis Occasions” by James J. Muench January 23rd SPEAKER PRESIDENT’S VIEW BOARD MEETINGS Every 2nd Monday Richard Bowers, who, along with Dick Brown, brings to the Beaches the weekly radio talk and call-in show, "Salt Air", which can be heard at 1600 AM, WZNZ, 12-1 pm, on Thursdays. Richard will talk about the impact of "Salt Air" on the community, along with some of the contemporary issues in our community discussed on the program. Sales are over $500.00, but we could sure use more since we have to cover scholarship costs and the pancake breakfast. Lets get out and ask some more folks to support us. Thanks to all who have sold some tickets. We are also headed towards the Birdies For Charity fund raiser. Jim Lee has been doing a great job getting us lots of newspaper coverage for our events and for the good speakers, he has scheduled. Thanks. We are going to try a Beaches Kiwanis morning meeting to focus on younger working folks that might be interested. The first meeting will be Feb. 20, 7:30 AM at Lillie's Coffee Bar(Beach Town Center, 200 First Street, Neptune Beach). Let’s start an effort to contact some folks for this effort.
