The God of a Hurting People: Understanding Suffering and Hope in Exodus

In this sermon delivered by Steve Petch on September 11, 2011, we explore God's declaration, "I am the LORD your God," as it pertains to a people in pain. Focusing on Exodus 1:1–2:4, we identify the struggles faced by biblical figures like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who battled betrayal, discrimination, and loss. Discover how we are called to respond to our own suffering: by recognizing it as a common experience, holding onto hope for deliverance, and engaging in honest prayer. God's presence remains steadfast, even in our darkest times.
