  3. Introduction • The rapid development of technology in P2P Multimedia Streaming System. • PPLive, PPStream • Real-Time Playback • Video-On-Demand • user has more and more choice to watch favorite channel • increase the frequency of channel switching

  4. INTRODUCTION Goals: 1). Help users find their favorite channel fast. 2). Decrease the bandwidth consumption 3). Reduce the server's overhead and the peer's connection delay 4). Provide a stable quality

Simulation • Simulations for different upload bandwidth distributions using network simulator OMNeT++ • full quality video stream :2Mbps • low quality of the stream:128Kbps • The number of channels is 20 • The number of peers is 200 • A period of auto-changing 4 channels of low quality video is 8 seconds

  11. Conclusion • we provide a novel method named HPMP from different angles to improve channel change time in P2P live media streaming. • HPMP reduces the hop distance time efficiently and decreases the tracker server’s overhead
