This system efficiently manages over 1.3 million work orders through two key modules: LV meter installation and LV disconnection/restoration. It offers remote access for field teams via internet and basic telephone networks. The architecture supports PDA connectivity through GSM/GPRS, enhancing real-time data uploads and downloads. Designed for public services and utility companies, the system optimizes field management, reducing costs and improving worker efficiency through GPS and GIS integration for facility inventory and georeferencing.

WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT USING A COMMUNICATIONS INTEGRAL SYSTEMS
INTRODUCTION - System completely implemented with 2 modules: * LV meter installation * LV disconnection and restoration - Covering 1.3 millions of Work Orders - The system allows the WO management from different locations, accesing by INTERNET, and uploading and downloding WO directly from the field PDA using GSM/GPRS or by Basic Telephone Network
MODELLING - The organization is based in WOMC (Work Order Management Center) geographically distributed - Remote access to the system from the WOMC, using ADSL linet to access via INTERNET - Uploading and downloading of WO in field on the PDA using the Basic Telephone Network - The same using GSM/GPRS
ARCHITECTURE HOST AIX Communications Server Data Base FTP Metaframe Server NAT Server PDA Internet Connection CRADLE BUREAU - PC EXTERNAL PC PDA PDA MODEM CRADLE “GSM/GPRS” CONNECTION “BTN” CONNECTION
BENEFITS - Field management optimization reduces costs and improves field workers efficiency - The WO management may be executed from different locations - The real-time WO status by be known due to the on-line uploading and downloading
MOVILCOM PROJECT - Mobile communication integral system oriented to public services and utility companies - Development based in a pluridisciplinar consortium (SISTEPLAN, ROBOTIKER, GIROA and IBERDROLA) - The goals for IBERDROLA: * Optimization and location via GPS + GIS * Facilities inventory georreference updating
