  2. Differences in electronegativites will help determine if a bond is ionic, polar covalent, or non-polar covalent. • The separation points are 1.7, and .5 • If the difference is 1.7 or more, it is considered to be ionic. • If the difference is .5 or more, it is considered to be polar covalent
