  3. The Future of EDI • The future looks grim. Alas, every technology must eventually die. • EDI over the internet, thanks to RFC 1865 we can eliminate the VAN • XML as an EDI replacement

  9. My Conclusions • EDI should and will be eliminated • XML should/will be used sparingly at first • XML needs some more industry standard DTD’s before it will really take hold
