Hurrian/Hittite Myths of Creation • Alalu defeated by the Sky God Anu. • Anu reigns for 9 years before fighting Kumarbi.Realizing he will be defeated Anu flees up to heaven, but Kumarbi catches him, bites off his genitals and swallows them. • Kumarbi has actually swallowed gods, whom he tries to spit out, but the weather god remains inside of him. He swallows something which appears to be a stone, and after much groaning the weather god emerges.
