  3. Research Aim To develop an approach for measuring the performance of the Product Development Process.

  4. Identify those factors which affect performance. Evaluate impact of innovations. Define strengths and weaknesses. Provide a basis for continuous improvement. Achieve recognition of high performance. Why Measure PD Performance?

  5. Research Review • Assumed definitions/vague terminology. • No fundamental and generic model. • “Black-box” treatment of PD. • Metrics varied and unrelated. • Retrospective not prescriptive. • Studies not goal related.
