The MLC 3 Kickoff Meeting in August 2008, held in Minneapolis, MN, focused on progressing North Carolina's local accreditation program. As 40 of 85 locals became accredited, the state conducted a pilot self-assessment and external site visits, enhancing performance improvement (PI) practices. With training and technical assistance, over 173 participants engaged via video conference, and 110 attended regional trainings to build competencies for national accreditation. Ongoing efforts include standards vetting and implementing high-leverage changes to elevate public health outcomes across the state.
