    1. Sandringham College Sandringham College is a multi campus Year 7 - 12 College currently 1400 students Beaumaris & Highett Campuses Years 7 10 660 students Sandringham Campus Years 11 12 740 VCE & VCAL students (coming from about 70 different Government / Catholic / Independent schools) The Senior Campus provides students with access to both VCE & VCAL courses. offers a wide range of VCE and VCAL units, including a broad range of VET Certificates (70 VCE options at each level & more than 30 VET) has flexible timetabling provides an adult environment

    2. Broad Provision = Student Engagement VET enrolments this year - about 375 in 34 VET Certificates - including ASBAs Each year about 40 students come from about 16 other schools on Wednesdays for 10 VET Programs delivered at Sandringham College Timetabling only two blocks on a Wednesday for VCE students & running no VCAL classes on Wednesdays & Fridays allows access to a wide range of VET programs for all students About half of our students do their VET training on campus which keeps costs down (although there is a down side to this)

    3. VET Programs under Block Credit Arrangements Not all interest areas covered by VCE/VET programs We replaced 2 Extension Programs (in Acting & Art) for VCE students that had no VCE credits with VET programs that give Year 12 credits, ENTER increments etc

    4. How? Go to www.ntis.org.au Find course/ look at training package Discuss with potential teacher look at appropriateness overlap with VCE subjects etc Check hours : 180 at Cert II = Units 1 & 2 180 at Cert III = Units 3 & 4 (beware nesting) find local providers compare costs etc after actual enrolment - check VCE/VCAL credits (if new)

    5. In Summary Belief that broad provision = student engagement Wide range of VET both on & off campus Programs are accessible (times, venues, costs) No compulsory VET subjects (apart from it being compulsory for VCAL students) Can run a number of VET programs at Sandringham by opening them up to students from other schools (via our LCP Youth Connect) VET provides Work Placement (good reality check) Block credit arrangements provide access to wider range of programs Working from the student out forces us to think outside the square and to be flexible & innovative
