Advancements in GISC Operational Capabilities: Korea Meteorological Administration Report 2010

This report outlines the operational capabilities of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) as of February 2010, detailing the status and plans for the SIMDAT project following the technical workshop at ECMWF. It highlights a comprehensive network of meteorological instruments including wind profilers, seismometers, lightning sensors, LIDAR, radiosondes, and buoys across various sites. Two operational systems, COMIS-3 and MISS-DP, function continuously with nearly identical database structures but distinct user interfaces. Innovations in remote monitoring and data collection are also discussed.
