  3. Facts • Discovered by a Swedish man named Carl Mosander • Named after a Swedish village called Ytterby • One of the “rare earth” elements [nos. 57-71] • Used to be thought of as rare • Found in the Earth’s crust, but not a lot in one place • Can’t be mined
