  2. 2008-2009 ESE Parent Survey • Parents provided paper survey immediately following every IEP/EP meeting; • Provided in English, Spanish and Creole; • Options for parents to complete: • Complete immediately, seal, and return to ESE Program Specialist to send via school mail to ESE; • Complete at home, seal, and return to ESE Program Specialist to send via school mail to ESE; • Complete at home and mail directly to ESE; • Complete anonymously and add comments.

  4. Focus of Survey • 15 questions with focus on 3 areas: • Communication • The IEP/EP Meeting • Benefits of Special Education

  5. Rating Scale and Response Rate • 5 Strongly Agree • 4 Agree • 3 Neither Agree or Disagree • 2 Disagree • 1 Strongly Disagree • 473/4181 responses received for a rate of 11% (.113)

  9. Surveys Available • Two notebooks placed in Board office with actual surveys that were returned to ESE. • ESE Staff called parents who listed phone number who indicated they had questions or concerns. • Input from parents was valuable to schools and department.

  10. 2009-2010 Survey • To increase response rate for 2009: • Online survey will be available in school office for parents to complete immediately following the IEP/EP meeting; • Online survey may be completed from home following the meeting; or • Paper form will be available upon request.
