Structural Analysis and Testing of Balsa Wood in Airframe Applications

This project report evaluates the structural properties and testing outcomes of balsa wood for airframe applications. The team, led by Project Manager Matt Greco and complemented by experts in electrical systems, industrial processes, and structural analysis, investigates balsa's material properties including Young’s modulus, shear modulus, tensile strength, and compressive strength. We also explore the implications of autonomous flight systems with pilot backup and innovative control switching, aimed at enhancing extended range operations for aircraft.
