Lifestyle Goals • Lifestyle goals are the ways you want to spend your time, energy and resources • What do you want to accomplish • Where would you like to live (house or apartment, city or country) • How you spend your free time • Do you want a lot of money or just enough to be comfortable • Do you want a family

  5. Your Values • Values are your beliefs and principles • Six general values • Responsibility-fulfilling obligations, dependable and trustworthy • Relationship- family and friends are important to you • Compassion caring about people and their well being

  6. Your Values (Continue) • Six general values • Achievement – want to succeed in whatever you do • Courage – is the ability to overcome difficulties or to conquer fear or despair. . Example: When you speak up for an unpopular cause. • Recognition- want others to appreciate and respect your accomplishments

  7. Six Values • List the six values and rank each in order of importance

  8. Your Interests • Interest – are things that you enjoy doing • Favorite activities- list 10 favorite activities and rank them in order of preference • (Add to Personal Academic and Career Portfolio)

  9. Data, People or Things • Data- information, knowledge, ideas, facts, words, symbols, figures and statistics • People who like data- accountants, librarians, physicists, and proofreaders • Careers working with others- teaching, counseling, or training recue dogs and their handling

  10. Data, People or Things • Careers working with things – handling physical objects of any size, such as instruments, tools, plants, machinery, equipment, raw material and vehicles • Technical support

  11. Your Aptitudes & Abilities • Aptitudes – the potential for learning a certain skill • Ability – is a skill you have already develop
