The aging process significantly alters the function of endothelial cells lining the blood vessels, leading to abnormalities that may predispose individuals to vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis. These changes include increased vasoconstriction, impaired vascular integrity, and disrupted maintenance of blood fluidity due to increased cell adherence and coagulation properties.
