Edutus College (EC), Tatabánya and Budapest, HungaryPractical Information on the International Week between 25-30 March 2012 Transfer from and to the airport • Upon your request EC arranges the transfer for you from and to the airport that makes easier and faster to get to Tatabánya or Budapest. • In case you are staying in Budapest we kindly suggest you to use the Airport Minibus services. • If you require a transfer please keep us informed on your travelling data (flight number, terminal, air carrier, arrival time) by 16 March 2012 the latest. Accommodation - Hotel Arnold*** in Tata • The EC have already booked a room for you at Hotel Arnold (www.hotels.hu/arnold) in Tata. The hotel is a small and intimate one that is located at one of the entrances of the English park of Lake Cseke. • Services of the accommodation: Parking lot * Restaurant * Conference room * Change * Rent-a-car * Hotel taxi * Phone in room * TV in room * Minibar * Pets allowed * Laundry * Own garden * Fishing * Closed parking * Bus parking space * Computer connection * Non-smoking room * Room-service * Central safe * 24-hour open reception * Vegetarian kitchen * Organisation of Programs * Guarded parking * Diabetic meals * WLAN/WiFi * Prices of the hotel for the guests of EC • Single 9.400HUF (app. 36 euro/room included breakfast and taxes) • Double 12.200HUF (app. 42 euro/room included breakfast and taxes) Accommodation in Budapest Due to the variety and quantity of hotels in Budapest we recommend you to make your own choice (e.g. www.booking.com) . In case you request we can make the booking for you as well. If you have already done the booking, please keep us informed on the exact address of the hotel.

  2. Lunch EC provides lunch for its guest professors in its cafeteria after classes as in previous years. Timing Courses start at 9 a.m. and finish at 1 p.m. Teaching materials Concerning teaching materials we wish to make them available for our students on our internal electronic system from where they could be downloaded. For foreign students we make copies of the materials and distribute those at the Welcome party for student on 25th March 2012. Please send me the materials in electronic format to the e-mail address, adorjan.anett@edutus.hu by 16 March 2012the latest. Equipment We would also appreciate if you kept us informed on your required equipment (notebook, beamer, TV, video etc.) needed to your course by the same date, 16 March 2012.

Honorarium Regarding to the honorariumpaid to our guest lecturers we are requested by the Hungarian Tax Authority to ask for the following documents: • Certificate concerning the legislation applicable (need to be claimed at the national tax authority in your home country). In case you fail to show this document at the time of the of your guest teaching in Hungary a statement has to be signed at EC and the above mentioned document has to be sent to the College as soon as possible. Without it we are not able to transfer you the money. • European Insurance Card or proof of insurance equivalent with the card above. • Filled “Payment” form (see attached form) Getting to EdutusCollege Lecturers staying in Tata will be transferred to Tatabánya in the mornings and taken back to Tata after courses. Lecturers staying in Budapest transfer possibility is not organized by the College. We kindly advice you to use the Budapest public services. From BATTHYANY TÉR bus number 260 takes you to KocsisSándorút which is the final station of the bus. It takes app. 30 minutes to get there. The College building is located next to the bus station. Address of the College in Budapest: 1037 Budapest, Bécsiút 324. Building 6. The route planner of the Budapest Public Transport Company is available at the following link: http://utazastervezo.bkv.hu/tervezo/index.php?lng=eng that may help you to find the most convenient way to get to the College building. Relaxing room & computer The College provides you and your colleagues a relaxing room where you have a chance to have some coffee or tea before/between/after classes. Computer provided for checking e-mails between classes. In case you wish to use your own notebook there is a WIFI system that is available for our guests as well, however please be aware of the followings: Using the WIFI you need to register by giving the MAC address of the WiFi interface of your computer. Welcome & farewell dinner, cultural programs in the afternoons 25 March 2012 (Sunday) – Country presentation and Welcome dinner It would be our pleasure if you joined us for the country presentation and dinner on 25th March. Lecturers staying in Tata will be transferred from Hotel Arnold to EC in Tatabánya, After the presentations and dinner you will be driven to Tata. Lecturers staying in Budapest will be transferred from your hotel (please keep me informed on the name and exact address of the hotel) to Tatabánya between 4-4:30 p.m. Just in case it is needed your mobile number is requested to get in contact with you. After the presentation and dinner you will be driven to Budapest. In case your students coming from your institutions we kindly ask your student group to make a maximum of 5 minutes presentation on your country and school if possible a funny one. This year we are having a competition concerning the presentations . We also ask your group to bring some sweets/chocolates/cookies typical to your county that might be presented - and of course - tasted by the others. 26 March 2012 (Monday) - Sightseeing in Budapest Departure from the College, building A with student guides to the train station at 2 p.m. Taking a train is the easiest and probably the fastest due to the continuous traffic jams in Budapest. Duration of travelling is app. 1 hour. You will have the opportunity to experience the capital on foot/by public transport and get first hand information about the city itself. (In case of a 40-50 people group it is done by bus.)  A professional tourist guide will guide and show you the must sees in Budapest such as Buda Castle area, Heroes Square, Andrássy Avenue etc. Further information on the city: www.budapestinfo.hu Expected arrival to Tata is at 8 p.m, however earlier return is also possible individually. Lecturers staying in Budapest joining to the programme is possible in Budapest. Participation fee/person: 19 EUR/person

  5. 27 March 2012 (Tuesday) - Excursion from Tatabánya to Visegrád, taking part in a renaissance joust and a royal feast The group leaves from Tatabánya, Building “A” by bus to Visegrád. Where it takes part in a knight tournament. This is a medieval program performed by the Saint George Knightly Order in the open air theatre of the Lower Castle in Visegrád. The tournament is followed by a royal feast in Renaissance Restaurant, guests march (torch-light in dark) to the restaurant (200 meters) led by drummers. To learn more about Visegrád please visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHfvbI3NiAA&feature=PlayList&p=614CD5BBA003593F&index=4 Participation fee/person: 39 EUR/person 28 March 2012 (Wednesday) – Wine tasting and dinner at Hilltop Neszmély- The group leaves from Tatabánya, Building “A” by bus to Hilltop Neszmély Ltd (www.hilltop.hu). Hilltop wines are naturally popular among Hungarian wine lovers as well.Their range of products is extensive as the winery produces and bottles almost 40 varieties of wine as well as 3 types of törkölypálinka (Hungarian grappa) and a méthodetraditionelle sparkling wine. The winery is unique in that it exports the most bottles of Hungarian wine to Britain – over 6 million out of the 7 million bottles of wine produced each year. The visit starts with a visit to the vinery and where you can learn more about the wine production. As an end of the visit 6 different kind of wine can be tasted than in the restaurant of the winery a three-course dinner (drink is not included) is waiting for the hungry traveller.   6. 29 March 2012 (Wednesday) – Visit to Széchenyi Bath in Budapest We invite you to come with us to the spa, called Széchenyi Bath in Budapest which is one of Europe's greatest spa complexes. The neo-baroque baths were built in 1913. Its thermal springs were discovered in 1879 - they are the deepest and warmest thermal wells in Budapest. It is a vast complex of indoor and outdoor pools, the premier medicinal bath of Pest, situated in the middle of the City Park. The spacious and sunny pool halls bear a touch of the Roman fondness for spas, and the tub bath reflects the signs of the Greek and Scandinavian bath cultures. These are shown in the saunas, baths and steam rooms available at the different departments The group leaves by train to Budapest at 2 p.m. and uses the public transport to Széchenyi spa. Lecturers staying in Budapest can also join to the programme is possible. Participation fee/person: 24 EUR/person 29 March 2012 (Thursday) – Discussion on internationalization and Farewell dinner During the International week a round-table discussion is organised under the theme: Experiences in Internationalization. We kindly invite you to share your experience gained in the topic either on • Internationalization at your institution • Providing international experiences abroad (study, work placement, field trips, etc.) You can share your experience by preparing a short presentation (cc 5-7 minutes) and join to the discussion that will be held at Edutus College in Tatabánya on 29th March 2012 at 16:00. Lecturers staying in Budapest will be picked up from College building in Budapest at 1.45 p.m. and taken to Tatabánya. Lecturers staying in Tata will be picked up from the hotel at 3:30 p.m.

  7. As a closure of the International Week we invite you to a “Farewell dinner” in Tata at 7 p.m. Minibus is taking our guests from the College to Tata where the farewell dinner takes place. After dinner transfer is provided to the hotels in Budapest and Tata. The programs are optional! If you wish to take part any of the programmes above please keep us informed on your request by 16 March 2012. Payment in cash in EUR.
