A CASE STUDY IN LONG HAUL 1988 Government instruction to privatise 1996 EOC NI Formal Investigation 1996 UNISON v- Down Lisburn Judicial Review 2000 Section 75 takes effect 2001 Health Minister issues instruction to EQIA privatised services 2002 Women in Craigavon come back inhouse 2003 Women in Armagh/Dungannon inhouse 2006 Over 1000 women come back in house IN DERRY IT TOOK 18 YEARS!

    7. What it took 18 years of union struggle Strikes, protests, lobbies and litigation A new equality law Section 75 Political will to implement

The Difference Section 75 made This year alone over 1000 women have been lifted out of minimum wage work and returned to better pay and conditions and pension rights They now have access to a wide range of equality policies, to training opportunities and to a better future WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BLOCK THIS PROGRESS?
