Managing stress–Manage your time • Use a day planner and write out your schedule of classes, activities, work. • Prioritize responsibilities. • Make lists of things to do – use sticky notes. • Find a convenient job you enjoy doing • (student employment on campus). • Don’t over commit yourself.

  6. Thinking Behaving Feeling Managing stress–Regulate your emotions • Regulating emotions is a positive way to gain control over stress and emotions. • Emotions are not bad. • Emotions are normal. • Examples of self-control strategies • Counting to 100 or saying the ABC’s • Positive self-talk

Managing stress– Use healthy coping strategies • Signs of healthy & unhealthy coping • Examples of healthy coping strategies • Be Active! - Take a walk or jog around campus • Eat healthy foods • Visit the Nutritionist at Campus Health on Tempe Campus • Get a massage at the Student Recreation Complex on Tempe Campus • Read a favorite book • Spend time with a friend • Participate in social activities – be involved on-campus • Incorporate laughter into your life • Be a Well Devil! Take part in The Live Well @ ASU Online Wellness Program.
