  1. Science PBL Project for 2014 Welcome Ladies and Gentleman to the light side of Neon.

  2. William Ramsey discovered it, and the first person to make a neon lamp was Georges Claude • George Claude must have been brilliant to create neon.

  3. One of the Noble gases are Neon which emits a fiery red, and a mixture of argon and minute particles of mercury which emits a subdued blue. • This is the dark side of Neon.

  4. Neon and a Combination of Argon. • This is an example of what Neon and Argon can do.

  5. It is “capped off” by a couple of glass electrodes then wire passes from the outside to the inside • Please do not attempt to drain or add Neon to signs at home leave it for professional Conduits or electricians.

  6. PBL Answer • Electrical currents activate the gas atoms and the electrons, which knocks electrons out of their current orbit and finally ionizes the atoms.

PBL Answer • One is clear glass tubing with neon which produces a red color, the second way is colors produced by the “ inert gasses” in the tubing’s with some florescent baked/painted on the inside. The third and final way is to use colored glass in combination with neon or argon to produce multiple colors
