  5. Gods • Perun – god of thunder and lightning • Voloss – protected cattle and sheep • Great Mother – godess of harvest and land • Svarog – god of the Sun • Supernatural creatures

  6. Graves and Tombs • Burial ritual • Sacrifices

  7. Trade • Traded from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea • Around 800 AD – trading towns along rivers • Varangian route – 3000 kilometers • Spring – traded with Byzantium with cloth, wine, weapons, jewelry • Winter – honey, furs, forest products

  8. Weapons • Bows, axes, spears, shields, lassoes, swords

  9. Warriors • Tall and strong • Use wide range weapons • Maneuverable • Great tacticians
