The mum was in tears when deputy head explained to her what the money would mean for her child over the summer.“ • "It's a brilliant experience which I couldn't have managed for my children otherwise. It gave them new experiences for life. My daughter loved tennis and swimming and swam with loads of confidence after the lessons.“ (from a parent) • “I have a young man at a middle school in Redditch. His home circumstances are quite dire, Mom is a heroin addict, who has been to prison this year. Through funding from POW he went on a weeks holiday in August. I cannot put into words the pleasure he got from that holiday. Staff said he was absolutely ‘golden’, he just keeps on and on about the different things he did, the places he went, he saw the sea. What a difference that week has made to him. (Education Welfare Officer)
