UK wide • Significant reduction in doctors but increase in nurses undertaking DFSRH, overall continued decline in past 3 years • 6% reduction in number of Courses of 5 in past year (March 2015-2016) • No change in numbers undertaking LoC SDI or IUT • e-KA: increased numbers 2014 pass rate 89% (prob more experienced folk) 2015 pass rate 77%

Diploma FSRH General Training Committee: ‘one of the challenges for 2016 is to review and revise the FSRH diploma to increase accessibility without compromising quality.
Changes to Assessment of Clinical Practice (ACP) • You must show that you can take an appropriate history without the use of templates or prompts • At least 2 ACPs must be signed by a FRT, with at least one signed by primary trainer. • All other ACPs may be completed by a HCP who ‘the primary trainer considers to have the training and expertise to undertake formative and summative assessments in the topic areas’ (does not need to have DFSRH or Loc Med Ed)
Changes to Loc SDI and IUT • New forms- must demonstrate an observed consultation to include advice on alternative contraception where appropriate • LoC SDI primary trainer must observe at least 1 competent insertion and removal • Loc IUT primary trainer must observe at least 2 IUD competent insertions • Otherwise the primary trainer may delegate training to another HCP provided they hold the relevant LoC (does not need to be a FRT)
e-knowledge assessment • 1hr 45mins, 100 SBA questions • Open book but no assistance! • Stable internet connection – no refund • No limit to number of sittings (but £75 per go) • Not compulsory to do e-SRH modules (apart from SDI module 15) but recommended • Candidates can no longer print out a certificate – instead confirmation e-mail from Faculty
