The supplier transaction portal is free for suppliers to use and is the default route for transactions to be delivered to and for suppliers to send invoices to all buyers It is part of the core marketplace offering with free self service back office integration and extendable Value Added Services to support bespoke integration to third parties

  22. Developing the Zanzibar marketplace is a major project and suppliers are critical to develop and deliver the process along with the associated benefits to all

  23. Strategic Sourcing – Coding & Classification Support to deliver the benefits of Zanzibar to the wider health economy in NW London and integrate with national and international initiatives

Healthcare User Group (HUG) HUG Mission: Lead the healthcare industry to the effective utilization and development of global standards with the primary focus on automatic identification to improve patient safety. HUG Vision: Become the single source for regulatory agencies and trade organizations (manufacturer, wholesaler, hospital and pharmacy) to seek input and direction for global supply chain standards in the healthcare industry. Priorities for 2006: Preventing medical errors and combating counterfeiting Preventing medical errors and combating counterfeiting are currently main issues within the healthcare sector. The GS1 HUG is collaboratively developing, promoting and implementing a global industry response to these global issues while improving at the same time supply chain efficiency. Deliverables: • Product identification/serialisation on all product levels • Business processes for product tracking and tracing • Business processes for product authentication • Manufacturer’s and GS1 baseline for existing standards • Baseline regarding existing regulations • Programme for coordinated approach to regulatory bodies • Business case • Strategy for future healthcare standard development process and gap analysis to existing one • Baseline for future healthcare standard development Solution: • Enabling authentication of individual packages, cases or pallets and ensure drugs are authentic regarding their ID. • Work with supply chain trading partners to enable an electronic pedigree1 for individual packages such that in the event of a counterfeiting incident, tracing of the suspect product can occur. • Utilise the whole product and service portfolio of available GS1 standards to ensure a safe and efficient supply chain while reducing the costs through simplification and accuracy of order processing, receiving/shipping and inventory management.
