Introduction • 5 years at Las Vegas Sands Corp – world’s leading integrated resort developer including The Venetian Macao and Marina Bay Sands • Chaired the pre-opening marketing team to open the 6,000 rooms Sands Cotai Central • Led the brand marketing team at Galaxy Entertainment for their megaresort – Galaxy Macau

What is Integrated Resort? “Integrated resort is to strengthen the leisure and entertainment options to enhance Singapore’s reputation as a “must-visit” destination for leisure and business visitors.” Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore By definition, integrated resorts are resorts with mixed development like hotels, restaurants, convention centre, theme park, shopping centre and casino.

  5. Why does it matter? Triggers ~ • Downfall in the tourism industry in years between 2008 – 2009 coinciding with the economic downturn. • Visitors arrivals to Singapore fell by 4.5% in July 2009 from 923,000 down to 881,000 in a single month. • Tourism revenue declined by 19% in the year 2009 What changed? • International visitor arrivals to Singapore registered 16.2% growth to reach 1.05million in January 2011. The highest ever number in a single month. • Visitors’ days were at 4.1 million days, representing 13.3%.
