  2. D=RT • You are travelling down the highway at 45 miles/hr for 3 hours. How far did you travel? • Your destination is 700 miles away and it took you 12 hours to get there. How fast were you going? • Your destination is 200 miles away and you travelled at a speed of 60 miles/hr to get there. How long did it take you to get to your destination?

  3. Acceleration • From rest you speed up to 30 m/s. It took you 5 seconds to get to that speed. What was your acceleration? • You are travelling 80 m/s then slow down to 40 m/s. It took you 5 seconds to slow down that much. What was your acceleration? • You are travelling 20 m/s then slam on your brakes to a complete stop. It took you 4 seconds to stop. What was your acceleration?

  4. Free Fall • You drop a marble from 20 m high. What is its final velocity right before hitting the ground? • You drop a marble and it falls for 4 seconds. How far did the marble fall? • You are on a distant planet with a different acceleration of gravity. You find that when you drop a marble it takes 3 seconds to hit the ground and has a final velocity of 9 m/s. What is the acceleration due to gravity on this distant planet?
