World Cup 1966 By: Samid Ali Koch
The World Cup I chose to do was the 1966 World Cup. I chose this World Cup because it was the first time England had won a World Cup, and that means a lot to me because I am from England. This World Cup took place during the summer of 1966. The country that hosted the 1966 World Cup was England. Introduction
The finalists in the 1966 World Cup were England and West Germany. The winners of the 1966 World Cup were England. The score was 4 for England and 2 for West Germany. Finals
The sequence of the goals were, 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, and then 4-2. The first goal was scored by Germany by Helmut Haller. The first goal by England was by Geoff Hurst. The second goal for England was by Martin Peters. The second goal for Germany was by Wolfgang Weber. The third goal for England was by Geoff Hurst and also was the last goal. Geoff Hurst scored a hat-rick which is 3 goals in that match. Since that day it has been the only hat-rick ever scored in a World Cup. This is Geoff Hurst Sequence of the Goals
Geoff Hurst was given a threw ball by another England player. After that there were only 2 defenders playing in defense and then Geoff Hurst passed the defense ahead of him, and took a shoot right outside the box. This player is nowhere close to being in position. Play leading up to Goal
The defense could of made it a 2 on 1 situation if they were in there positions. When they are in a 2 on 1 one of the defense could be a little behind then they could both attack and clear the ball to the midfield. If the defense did what I said. This player should of run to the left corner cross it in and let another player score. What the defense could of done to prevent the goal
1 player I saw that showed a lot of skills was Geoff Hurst. He showed a lot of skills every time he was attacking, for example when he scored his last goal the final goal of the match. He was running and there was a defender ext to him he put the ball threw the defenders leg run around him and shot. Individual player skills
There was another player who was gathering the defense attention in midfield and then he passed to a defense who passed a threw ball to Geoff Hurst who scored. Off the ball movement
