  2. Are you also tired of changing sides throughout the night and face trouble sleeping every night? According to an estimation reported by the American Sleep Association, almost 50-70 million Americans are facing sleeping issues every day and insomnia is one of the most reported. Sleep specialists also suggest that if people are sleep deprived they are not able to work efficiently throughout the day. More statistics make some shocking revelation that sleep deprivation leads to 15,000 to 17,000 accidents every year.

  3. Isn’t it dangerous? However, there are always solutions to the problems and there are many treatment options available for sleeping disorders. Let’s have a brief idea about all the sleeping disorders, mentioned below is the list of these common sleeping disorders and breathing treatments-  • Insomnia  • Sleep Apnea • Narcolepsy  • Restless leg syndrome  • REM sleeping behavior disorder 

  4. We will talk about the basic treatment and diagnosis options used for treating these sleeping disorders. However one must seek a doctor if one figure out any of such disorders. Let’s begin with our first disorder-  Insomnia- This is a condition in which people are not able to fall asleep or stay asleep for a longer period. It generally takes place in two forms- the short term and chronic stage.

  5. Short-term Insomnia- It happens when a person is dealing with jet lag, changing schedule, and disrupted sleep. These conditions might take place on a day to day basis but it doesn’t have long term impacts on people. They can be treated and eliminated easily.  • Chronic Insomnia- This kind of situation takes place when the sleep pattern is irregular and people are not able to sleep for months. There could be many reasons for such a situation albeit some of them are as follows-

  7. There are very specific treatment options available but mainly medical and non-medical options are used for treating the disease. If the reason behind your insomnia is a depression or anxiety medication could be the anti-depressant.  It also helps in coping with sleep but only after prescription. Also, the type of method is used only for the short period.  For a longer period CPAP therapy, sleeping relaxation, and stimulus control methods are been used for treating the disease. Lifestyle changes like avoiding caffeine consumption and overeating are also advised. 

  8. Sleep Apnea- It’s a common sleeping disorder where a person is not dealing with disrupted breathing and sleeping patterns. It usually happens when there is a blockage in the airways and respiration is restricted. A person might face choking right after waking up from sleep. It can happen once or twice a day but there are chances that it can happen a hundred times a day.  Few symptoms could be seen in a person suffering from sleep Apnea and some of them mentioned below- • Sore and dry throat.  • Periodical gasping. • Extreme drowsiness during the day.  • And loud snores

  9. Treatment- • There are certain therapies used for treating the disorder and some basic lifestyle changes are also advised to make. CPAP devices are used for providing the forced air into the throat via mouth and nose. This helps in clearing the pathways for air result in effortless inhalation and exhalation.  • Some alternative techniques used are as follows-  • Lifestyle changes.  • Maintaining a workout routine.  • Positional therapies.  • Surgery options are available.  • These were the list ofsleeping disorders and breathing treatmentsavailable for coping with the disorders.
