  2. Sleep Apnea can wither the quality of your sleep which directly affects your physical and mental health in general. It is difficult to live life to the fullest if you’re not active all the time. Well, you might be suffering from a sleeping disorder it could become serious if left untreated. There are few things you could try to cure Sleep Apnea. One of them is changing diet. Before jumping to the diet changes we should be aware of what is Sleep Apnea’ What is Sleep Apnea?  Sleep Apnea is one of the serious sleep disorders in which a person goes through obstruction in breathing. If you’re snoring loudly and feel tired even after sleeping for a full night, you might be having Sleep Apnea.

Sleep Apnea is categorized into three parts which are termed as-  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea- One of the most common forms of Sleep Apnea occurs when people feel an obstruction in breathing.  • Central Sleep Apnea- This is not so common among people, the brain stops sending signals to the brain which controls breathing.  • Complex Sleep Apnea Syndrome- it is a combination of both Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea.  This was all about Sleep Apnea, now let’s move on to the diet changes that could help you in the cure- 

  4. Diet Changes in Sleep Apnea Some studies say that following a Mediterranean diet would help in overweight patients who might be experiencing Sleep Apnea. The Mediterranean food consists of legumes, fruits, vegetables, fish, whole grains, etc. If you are not able to acquire the taste you can try some other foods while balancing the diet with Mediterranean food. You can replace fatty meats such as slices of bacon, sausage, pork, and fish might help in treating Sleep Apnea.  Eliminating junk and fried food from your diet can help in improving your general and sleep-related health issues. Moreover, consumption of dairy products should also be put to the limit. Dairy can lead to weight gain which is a risk for a person who is suffering from Sleep Apnea. Important of all, you need to control your consumption of caffeine because that can leave you sleep-deprived. Consumption of alcohol should also be limited because it tends to relax your muscles which obstruct the upper airways obstructing breathing.
