  2. Setting • Bella, a 18 year old girl, lives in Forks, Washington with her father Charlie. The weather here is mostly rainy and humid. If the setting were changed it would effect the activities Bella does throughout the book and what obstacles come in her path. The setting tells you what you should expect Bella to do and what it might effect.

  3. Characters

  4. Conflict • The conflict of the story is Edward leaving Bella. Bella feels as if a piece of herself has been ripped out and taken from her. She feels very alone. The conflict is Man v Self since Bella is upset with herself throughout the book. Blood Works Love , Feeling, Hope

  5. Summary of Plot • The plot of the story takes place mostly in the stormy weather of Forks. Here Edward has left Bella. Bella feels great pain of abandonment and remorse. Throughout the story Bella finds dangerous tasks to be able to visualize Edward and hear the silky tone of his voice. In the end Bella rushes off to Italy to save Edward from killing himself because he thinks she is dead.

  6. Theme • You never know how much you love someone until you lose them. • Text Evidence 1:”The thought made me smile.” pg.357 • Text Evidence 2:”I leaned my head against his shoulder and sighed happily.” pg.56 • Text Evidence 3:”No!” “Edward look at me!” pg.451

  7. Point of View • The point of view in New Moon is First person. This is because throughout the book it is told with I. If the point of view were changed we might or might not be able to understand the story better. The point of view was in Bella’s perspective.

  8. Symbolism • A object symbolic to my book would be a white rose with blood. This represents how Bella felt when Edward had abandoned her. The blood dripping on represents how Bella seemed to have life and blood given back to her when she had Edward back.

  9. Recommendation • New Moon is worth reading because the author pulls you in the whole way and gives you hints and surprises as you read. I think New Moon would not be good for people who do not like mythological creatures or love.
