  2. Write a science fiction short story that incorporates a trip to the moon or beyond.

  3. Apollo: Command and Service Modules Picture taken by the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM: not shown). 2 astronauts are in the LEM and 1 astronaut is in the command module (the all silver capsule shown at right.

  4. Criteria • How many physics concepts do you need to include for an A? • How much of the grade should depend on the creativity and interest of the story? • What is the maximum and minimum length of the story? • Keep a list of the “modifications of physics” and explain why it is a science fiction story? (…the ion accelerator causes speeds up to ½ the speed of light)

  5. Relative Sizes of the smaller, mostly rocky planets. Unmanned spacecraft have landed on Mars and Venus. Several spacecraft have flown by Mercury, Venus and Mars. Photographs of Pluto have been taken from great distances so surface details remain a mystery.

  9. Your finished story qualifies you to watch a segment of the movie Apollo 13 in the auditorium on the morning of Friday, May 28.
