  2. What is a tornado? A tornado is a spinning funnel of wind.

  3. How do tornados begin? Tornados form when cold air meets warm air. It usually rains before a tornado starts. Tornados sometimes cause floods.

  4. Measuring Tornados Tornados are measured by scales like ef0,ef1,ef2,ef3, ef4,ef5. The fajita scale is a common way of measuring the strength of tornadoes. The scale ranges from ef0 tornadoes that cause minimal damage through to ef5 tornadoes which cause massive damage.

  5. Where do most tornados occur? Most tornados occur in central America. Tornados occur in Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

  6. Tornado Safety Listening to a weather report. Finding a safe place to be. You can be safe by knowing where to go when a tornado starts.
