  2. The airplane game • IMAGINE…You are travelling alone on a 20 hour plane ride. Checking in, you learn that the plane is almost full! The service agent informs you that there are 5 remaining seats, and you must choose who to sit beside. This is a long flight, so consider your options carefully…

  3. Your options are: • A) a professional basketball player… • B) a refugee… • C) a person with a bald head and multiple piercings… • D) a former high-security prisoner… • E) a woman from Iran… REFLECT… Why did you choose me? What do you think I look like? What am I like?

  4. If you Selected: A basketball player • Wheelchair user • 4-Time World Champion in Basketball • Paralympic Medallist • Won GOLD in ’92, ’96, ’00 • Won BRONZE in ‘04 KENDRA OHAMA

Our roles and responsibilities • People who bully • Perceived or real imbalance of power • Might be a response to having been bullied, and is also in need of support • People who are targeted • Repeated, unwanted behaviourtakes many forms • Can be physical, social, verbal or even attempts to deprive a person spiritually • Social media is particularly harmful and popular- critical that you shut down the influence (close our accounts), like walking away • Reporting it changed the balance of power • Call on someone in the ‘crowd’ to help • People who provide an audience • You are the majority • You are part of the problem or the solution • If you watch it, join in, videotape it, or add to it, you are part of the problem • You can leave the scene, report it to an adult, report it the next day anonymously, stand up and protect the person targeted
