  1. eBackpack for students

  2. What IS eBackpack? • Web tool that will allow you to: • Get activities from your teacher • Comment on the activities • Turn-in work digitally to your teachers • Upload files from your iPad for your teacher to see and grade.

  3. Getting to eBackpack on the computer

  4. Choose the eBackpack link from the Student Resources page if it comes up first. Or….

  5. OR type in the URL in the address bar:https://risd.ebackpack.com

  6. The login window will appear.

  7. Your login is your student number (lunch number) Your password for the FIRST time is your student number again You will be required to change your password. You MUST use your regular computer login password. This is the password you every time you log into the computer.

  8. Your screen will look like this… Your classes are here. Choose one to see work that is due to turn in work.

  9. Select a class to see files sent to you by the teacher and to see comments the teacher has made. 2 Click on file shared with you by the teacher. 3 Read instructions the teacher. 1 Select your class.

  10. Select the file you want to work with and choose eitherDownload or View as instructed by your teacher.

  11. Click the Comment button when your teacher asks for you to participate by commenting.

  12. Your comments will appear like this…

  13. To COPY a file to your file area for use later, select the file and click COPY.

  14. Choose the file that you want it saved to and click Copy at the bottom of the screen.

  15. Working inside the Portfolio Area

  16. Select your E-Portfolio folder on the bottom-left and then your current grade level. Click Add Files to upload new files.

  17. Click Select File and locate the file you want to upload. Click Add Files when you are done.

  18. Select your E-Portfolio folder on the bottom-left and then your current grade level. The Turn-In button is located here for future activities

  19. Select the file that you want to turn-in. Click the Turn-In button.

  20. Use the pull-down menus to choose your options. Submit to Class > Which Class you are choosing > Select the assignment > any comments > Click Submit File

  21. Ready to work on the iPad with eBackpack?

  22. Authentication • Go to Safari • Authenticate to the internet • Username: Lunch number Password: ___________ • Press home button Important: If you have not logged into eBackpack on your computer YET then your password is going to stay your lunch number until you do.

  23. Find the eBackpack App and select it.

  24. This screen will appear.

  25. Account Name: risd.ebackpack.com Your login is your student number (lunch number) Your password for the FIRST time is your student number again

  27. To access your files from the past go to your E-Portfolio folder… STUDENT NAME

  28. Choose your grade level…

  29. To access your class assignments select the Shared Class and Group Files folder STUDENT NAME

  30. Select the class you need to work with.

  31. Tap twice on a file to open it.

  32. This is PDF View. Notice the pages at the bottom that you can select.

  33. To turn-in assignments you choose the purple Assignment Turn-In folder STUDENT NAME

  34. Choose the class you want to turn the to see if you have turned your work in. What? You haven’t?! Quick, open your file!

  35. Tap and hold down the file that you need to turn in. I’m in Keynote. When the project pictures begin to wiggle I click the rectangle with the arrow at the top-left of the screen.

  36. Here it is! When the Share via: screen pops up choose WebDAV at the bottom of the list.

  37. https://risd.ebackpack.com/ipad Enter this server address exactly like shown above. Enter your student number and password again.

  38. Now you can specify how you want the file to be loaded into eBackpack. Follow your teacher’s directions here.

  39. STUDENT NAME Choose the folder that you want your files to be loaded to.

  40. STUDENT NAME Choose the Copybutton

  41. STUDENT NAME To turn-in assignments choose the Assignment Turn-In folder…

  42. Choose the class name…

  43. Choose the Copy button.

  44. Now you are ready for your adventure with eBackpack!
