Definition oF Multimedia • The world has witnessed in recent major development in different fields of science, and especially in the field of information technology and telecommunications , and information technology developments have focused on how electronic information storage, processing , retrieval and display and transfer fast and secure way to take advantage of them when needed . • Integrate a range of digital information with digital in different shapes such as text , graphics , animation ,  images ,  audio , and video clips in one application for the user to view the interesting and enjoyable way to achieve certain goals.

Types of Multimedia • Linear Multimedia Display of electronic information used in this kind in a row, and without interference from the user interactively , and examples of the videos , and movies, and animation , it starts with the beginning of the presentation and ends at the end, without there being any input from the user. • Interactive Multimedia This allows the type of multimedia to control the application, through the choice of subjects, and change the direction of travel, and change the output of the application based on user input , and depending on the needs of the show, through the use of tools different input, and also called a media non-linear, and from Examples: educational programs, and gaming software , and Internet sites , and encyclopedias.

The elements necessary for the production of multimedia applications We need to produce a multimedia presentation to the elements and components together many involved in the production of the final application , the devices and equipment , and digital information and software used in the production process and supply • First: the hardware (equipment) used in production: • Screen • Scanner • Microphone • Digital Camera

Second : The digital information: • Photos and Graphics: may be fixed or mobile, and have multiple formats and extensions , vary in their clarity and size shelf and method of representation in the computer. • Bitmap Is represented by a bitmap image using colored dots "pixels“ , which is distributed on a network .

Third Production of  multimedia programs • Processing programs and text editors (Microsoft Word) • Word processing programs, and edit photos and graphics, including: • (Adobe Photoshop): and is the most popular software used in editing and graphics and bitmap images, and create graphics for Web pages. • (Corel draw): a program to deal with vector graphics and production, and especially the work on the paintings of large-size ad . • Processing programs and movies, edit, and output: using these programs among the filmmakers and the Pravda propaganda.(Smoke),(Adobe Premiere),(Adobe After Effects) • Programs to process sounds and editing and production: special programs are logged and processed sounds, add effects and integrate them with each other . (Nuendo),(Orchestral),(Pro tools),(Cubase),(Reason)
