PO Box 120 Ballarat 3353 ABN 32 113 662 144 • www.ballaratlittleathletics.com.au • Club President: Glenn Tyler Secretary: Jo Edwards • 1011 Newsletter Edition 16 – 05/03/11 • VISION STATEMENT “Provide, for the children of the Ballarat region and its environs, high quality competition, coaching and facilities to assist each child no matter what standard of ability, a chance to improve performance, enjoy participating in athletics and mature as a healthy well adjusted person” • STATE TRACK AND FIELD The final list of Ballarats qualifiers and progressions for the State Championships to be held at Olympic Park on the 19-20 March are posted on the notice board along with a copy of the timetable. Please ensure you are aware of what time your events start and note that marshalling will be 30 minutes prior to that time. • TOM SCOTT SHAVING HEAD FOR LEUKEMIA FOUNDATION As mentioned last week Tom Scott will be shaving his head to raise money for the leukemia foundation. If you see Tom on Saturday you can give him a donation to towards this. • LITTLE ATHLETICS TROTS NIGHT FUNDRAISER WILL BE HED ON THURSDAY 12TH MAY AT THE BALLARAT TROTTING CLUB. • WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS FOR THE NIGHT. • SPONSORSHIP COST IS $300 / RACE and this includes the following; • 2 admission tickets including 3 course meal in Terrace Restaurant • Full page racebook advertisement • Race naming rights • Opportunity to display signage on the night • We are also looking for people to sell tables of tickets at $30 a head – Please contact Glenn Tyler or Shane Bicknell for more details. 12.1 Anna-Maria bags gold at Aths Victoria State Champs Congratulations to those athletes who competed at the Athletics Victoria Youth Championships in Melbourne last weekend. Special congratulations To Anna-Maria Rice who streeted the field to claim gold in the Under 16 hurdles.

WINNER!!! 12.1 ATHLETE’S FOOT AWARD: Each week The Athlete’s Foot Award is donated by The Athlete’s Foot in the Bridge Mall and is presented to an Athlete who has achieved excellent results in an area of athletics. This week the award goes to KiaraCaddickfrom the Under 12’s. She has really improved with her sprinting this year and is a deserved winner.Congratulations Kiara. McDONALD’S ENCOURAGEMENT AWARDS – Round 15 McDonald’s Bakery Hill donate encouragement awards each week to one person in each age group. Congratulations to this weeks winners and our first for the season. If you are the winner of the encouragement award then you can collect your certificate from the canteen.
