Face Recognition Using Symmetry and Features for Enhanced Lipreading

This project explores advanced techniques in face recognition by leveraging symmetry and other facial features to improve lipreading capabilities. Conducted at Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg in collaboration with Philips Semiconductors, the research focuses on measuring the symmetry of facial components, particularly the eyes and lips, to classify phonemes effectively. By integrating concepts like the Golden Section and understanding reflections, the project aims to enhance the accuracy of facial feature localization and the classification process in contemporary vision systems.
