E N D
Future Class Meetings & Timeline-1 • Mid-January, 2013, 4:30-6:00 & 6:00-7:30 pm: Class Meeting on The Fourth Year Schedule, residency information; and meet with 4th year students in your field. • Early February, 2013: select Dean for Dean’s letter & fourth year advising. • Mid to late-February, 2013, 3:30-5:00 & 5:00-6:00 pm: Class Meeting on Obtaining the Residency of your Choice; and meet with BMC Residency Directors. • Early March, 2013: turn in Biosketch for Dean’s Letter • March-May, 2013: meet with your Dean about the Dean’s Letter, your residency specialty, your application strategy, and considering potential faculty to write your letters of recommendation • May or June, 2013: Personal Statement Workshop conducted by SA Deans • May-August:, 2013: review Personal Statement with your Dean. • July, 2013: on-line Residency Application Program opens for application input (ERAS) • August-September, 2013: Students review their Dean’s Letters; work on ERAS applications • September: ERAS opens for submission to programs. • September: after ERAS application: review list of programs applied to with your Dean.
Future Class Meetings & Timeline-2 • October 1, 2013: Dean’ Letters released to residency programs • October, 2013: Residency Interview Workshop conducted by SA Deans; schedule mock residency interview with your Dean. • October-November, 2013: review list of interview invitations with your Dean. • Mid-December, 2013: military match results released. • January, 2014: early Matches (Urology and Ophthalmology) will submit Rank Lists, and find out results. • January-February, 2014: review list of ranked programs with your Dean, and submit to the NRMP Match. • March, 2014: NRMP Match results released; any unmatched students will go through the SOAP procedure for matching to programs with unfilled positions. • March-May, 2014: complete your residency program’s procedures in preparation for your residency, and apply for your medical license. • May, 2014: Commencement, and congratulations to the Class of 2014!
