  2. Undocumented immigrants do not automatically become naturalized in case of marriage to US citizen they need to go through an application process that is lengthy and expensive

  3. Many immigrant-citizen couples, also known as “mixed-status families” decide not go through the process due to the obstacles and dangers that prowl.

  4. Even if the family decides to undergo the process, it is not mandatory that they will succeed and, will be able to put the undocumented spouse on the path toward legal status.
