  2. Our Aim(s) and Goal(s) • Our aim is to raise for SSVH (Singapore School for The Visually Handicapped) in a fun and interactive way. • Our goal is to accumulate at least $1000 so that we have enough to donate to the organization.

  3. Our Project Progress • We have decided to hold a funfair to raise the funds, instead of a normal sale, which is very common. In our discussion and planning stages, we decided to have 8 booths, of which 5 are gamebooths (including the exchange booth), 2 which are sale booths, and 1entertainment booth.

  4. Our Project Progress (cont.) • But in the later stages, we found out that it was very hard to cope with the number of booths, so our Teacher-In-Charge, Mrs Lam, suggested that we reduce the number of booths so that it would be easier to cope with the crowds. We had held test trials to ensure that it is easy to cope with.

  5. Day 1 of the Funfair • During the morning recesses of the first day of the funfair, the response wasn’t as much as we expected, making it easier for the group members and the extra student helpers for 5 Resilient and 5 Victorious. In the afternoon, the response was slightly better, but it still didn’t reach the expected number of people. On that day, we also started to use the computer to play different genres of music.

  6. Day 2 of the Funfair • On this day, the response improved in the morning, taking away an amount of prizes. It was harder to cope, as the queues was beginning to increase in length. In the afternoon, there was a long queue of people for coupons, therefore we had to control the number of people going in so that the queues could not increase in length.

  7. Day 3 of the Funfair • The response for both morning and afternoon recesses was overwhelming. It was extremely hard to cope as 1 of our members had injured herself and had to be sent home, and many of them were gone for their CCA(s) in the afternoons. To cope with the queues, we split some of the booths into two booths so that the waiting time would be lesser. Even after the number of booths increased, the queues continued to increased in length and we had to get more people to help. We managed to give away all the prizes.

  8. Post-Funfair Results • The results of the funfair: • It was a success! We have earned: . $10 0 2 0 5 Daily Sales: Day 1 : $220.30 Day 2 : $323.60 Day 3 : $358.15

Question 3: It was very hard to cope with so many booths. What suggestion did Mrs. Lam come up with? Question 4: Where was the funfair held? Correct Answer: $1000, we beat the target by $2.05. Correct Answer: SSVH stands for the Singapore School for the Visually Handicapped. Correct Answer: Mrs. Lam suggested that we reduce the number of booths. Correct Answer: It was held at the Innovation Room.
