  4. Earth • Earth is the only planet that can support life. • Earth is a ball of rock and almost covered by oceans. • Earth isn’t too hot or too cold.

  5. Mars • Mars has 2 moons. • A year on Mars is 687 days. • Mars was named for the Roman god of war.

  6. Jupiter • Jupiter has about 62 moons. • A year on Jupiter is 12 Earth-years. • Jupiter is twice as large as all the planets together.

  7. Saturn • Saturn has about 61 moons. • Saturn is called a gas giant. • A year on Saturn is about 30 Earth-years.

  8. Uranus • Uranus rotates differently than the other planets. • Uranus has 5 big moons and 10 small ones. • A thick haze covers Uranus.

  9. Neptune • Neptune has 4 or more rings. • Sometimes Neptune is the last planet in the Solar System. • Neptune has faint rings.

  10. Pluto • Pluto has 1moon, Charon, which is about the same size of Pluto. • Pluto’s surface is made up of frozen nitrogen. • Sometimes Pluto has atmosphere.
