  3. FISDL Program – Major Tasks • National Implementation based on FAA FIS Policy • Standards Development • RTCA SC-195 • Quality Assurance • Product Review Team • WJHTC Post Analysis • Training & Education • FAA Publications (AIM, ACs) • Trade Shows (NBAA, AOPA, Sun ‘N Fun, Oshkosh) • ?? - Other

FISDL Program - Status • National Deployment • Only one FISDL Service Provider – Honeywell • Nearly 75% coverage of CONUS today and growing • Standards • RTCA FIS-B MASPS (DO-267) published and Revision A being worked • TSO and companion AC in progress (AIR-130) • Quality Assurance • Honeywell products reviewed and accepted • Honeywell met or exceeded all performance criteria • Training and Education • AIM published and AC in progress (AFS-400) • Trade Shows supported - No FY03 funds for other initiatives

  5. On-Going Actions • Development of METAR plain language decoder by NCAR and FSL • Development of access for NAS status information (i.e., TFRs) through the NAIMES program • Co-sponsor NASA Glenn WINCOMM studies for FIS data link simulation/modeling NAIMES = NAS Aeronautical Information Management Enterprise System
