This comprehensive study packet is designed to assist students in organizing their coursework for the U.S. Government unit. Each packet must cover all essential materials related to the unit and should be submitted on time for full credit. Students will engage in quickwrites, daily reflections, and lecture note-taking to reflect on their learning process. All assignments, notes, and terms must be neatly organized and submitted with the assessment. Adhering to these guidelines will prepare students effectively for their final evaluations.

Packet Purpose • Each packet will cover a unit or specific topic related to the course to assist students as a study guide to the final assessment of the unit. • All required materials in the packet must be turned in on time to receive full credit. • All packets are turned in at the time of the assessment. Missing items will reduce packet grade and impact student overall grade with assessment.
Cover Sheet • Student Name • Unit Title • Teacher’s Name • Date • Table of Contents
Quickwrites • 1-5 minutes write ups on certain topics or terms given by the teacher for students to express their thoughts or opinion. All quickwritesshould be placed on the same sheets and have the following layout: • Date • Title • Student submission
Daily Reflections and Objectives • Students will write during the last five minutes of class a reflection on the day’s lesson in this format: • What did I learn today? • Did what I learn match today’s objective? • How did today’s lesson help me to understand the government? Or the World around me?
Unit Terms • All terms associated with the unit. • All terms must be kept together on the same sheet. • Organize terms by date and topic.
Unit Lecture Notes • All notes given during the Unit Lessons. • All notes must be on the same sheet. • Organize notes by dates and topic headings.
Class Activities • Any assignments or handouts given by the teacher is to be kept in your packet for final grading. • Some assignments may be checked in class or after packet has been checked. • Assignments should be organized by date and topic.
Miscellaneous Items • Any other items given by Mrs. Ashford not including in original unit lessons. • All items must be organized by date and topic.
