  4. Who does what? ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) ICANN coordinates all the Internet's naming, addressing and protocol systems, and it accredits domain name registrars. ICANN has a consultation role in local domain registries. Registry is the national domain authority defining restrictions, price and domain rules. (There are 250 registries in the world) Registrar is a company, accredited by ICANN or by a national ccTLD authority, to register Internet domain names. Registrant is the domain holder Registrant

  8. Redemption The redemption period is a Domain Registry period of up to 90 days that occurs when a domain name is deleted after having expired unrenewed.
