  1. BLENDER ANIMATION An Introduction

  2. Start off with a cube. Click the record button

  3. Drag the green bar from frame 1 to frame 20 (or some later frame)

  4. Now move your cube to a different location.

  5. Repeat PowerPoint slides 2-4 and make sure you move your object after you have dragged the green bar to later frames.

  6. Then press the play key and see your object come to life

  7. Try out different things … • Not only can you move things, you can also rotate and make your object expand or shrink (scale) in your animation – try it

  8. Blender Hot Keys • Press the “N” key – that will bring out the selected object’s spatial coordinates – scroll up to see the translation, rotation, scaling, etc. • You can move the green bar to later frames, then move or rotate or scale your object, and then press the “I” key. The option you choose makes a record of the object. If I want to do all 3 things – move, rotate and scale, then I will choose LocRotScale option so it records all three of those coordinates the object currently has.

  9. In-class work: 1) Create an animation of a basketball (UV Sphere) that hits the ground (a plane) and squishes a bit (as any ball does when it hits a surface) and then make it bounce back up 2) Create a basketball court, model it so it looks like a gym and make the ball go through the net3) E-mail me an image of it
