  1. How To Prevent Pool Water From Freezing

  2. How To Prevent • Pools can get damaged by cracking the walls due to extremely cold weather and surface tension on frozen water • This may give rise to irreparable damage in pipes • The action must be taken before the first frosts itself • Follow these tips to fight off the cold just in time

  3. Winterize Your Pool • Start by first clearing out all the debris skim away any frost that began to form on your pool’s surface • Drain out the water from your pool pump, filter, heater and other pool equipment fixed above ground • Make sure that there is no water in the pipe by blowing out the water from it • Once you’ve done that, put some pool antifreeze into your pool’s water to minimize the chances of pool’s water from freezing

  4. Use Floating Icebreakers • Another method is by placing the icebreakers across the pool. • Floating icebreakers are placed diagonally across a pool and remain suspended in the water to prevent frost and ice from forming • They are designed to absorb the increase in water volume and reduce excess pressure thus preventing any potential cracks in pools

  5. Move The Water • Switch on the water pump to make the water move and break up any sheets of ice that may have formed. • But, it is recommended to keep the water still in extreme winter condition. • Empty all water pipes to prevent them from bursting and protect the pump and filter by covering them with an insulating material.

  6. Protect The Pool with a Winter Cover • Winter Pool Covers keep the heat in during the day, • It can prevent the proliferation of microorganisms, prevent debris from getting into a pool • It also serve as a safety barrier while a pool is not being used.

  7. What Happens If The Pool Is Already Frozen? • Turn off the power at your circuit breaker. • Put some thick clothes over your pool equipment • Keep a close eye on the equipment as it thaws. • Inspect the pipes and connections for cracks carefully. • If you find any, drain out this equipment thoroughly and contact your local pool repairman to have these fixed. • For the best winter pool covers in Australia, visit: https://www.sydneycitypoolcovers.com.au/winter-pool-cover/
