  2. wriggle When you wriggle, you move your body back and forth, as you do when you are squirming.

  3. wriggle The girls sees worms wriggle in the dirt. If someone is holding you, you might wriggle to get away. If you wanted a dog to stop wriggling, would you ask him to sit still or bounce up and down? Why?

  4. wriggle How would you wriggle out of a shirt that is too small for you? Besides worms, what else might wriggle in the dirt? What animal might be able to wriggle out of your hand?

  5. pricklySomething that is prickly is sharp and hurts to touch.

  6. prickly The stem of some vegetables are prickly. If I touch something prickly, I might say “Ouch!” and pull my hand away quickly. Is a cactus or a daisy prickly? How do you know?

  7. prickly Name a prickly animal. Name an animal that is NOT prickly. Would you want to sit on your chair if it had a prickly object on it? Why? How might you handle a prickly object such as a pinecone?

  8. interested When you are interested in something, you want to do it or learn more about it.

  9. interested The girl’s neighbors were interested in trading their flowers for some of her mother’s soup. If I am interested in something, I want to do it or learn more about it. Would you be more interested in learning about spaceships or paper clips?

If you are NOT interested in hearing about a friend’s trip, would you listen carefully or look away? Explain. A friend wants to trade a milkshake for your ice-cream cone.
