  3. New Paradigms • No more reserving ports • “On-Demand”, “Ad-Hoc” • IP only collaborations • Move to the Desktop • Meet from your own office, home, hotel room as easily as if you where there.

  4. Unified Audio/Data/Video (Jan 2005) • Latitude/Cisco will have a new application ready by Jan 2005 • Web-based scheduling of audio, data, and video (H.323) meetings

  5. VoIP Multipoint (2005-?) • Provide VoIP bridging services for those organizations that have implemented VoIP. • Soon capable of using H.323 equipment to join audiobridge

  6. Instant Messenger (IM) (Late 2005-?) • Click on your Buddy’s to fire up an audio, data, video meeting. • Windows Messenger • Open Source-Jabber (?)

  7. Video-on-Demand (VOD)(2006-?) • Access recorded and stored content easily via the web. • Meetings, Courses, Experiments, etc. • Discuss “recording” in Straw Plan, Part 1 • Also discuss: Content

  8. Very High Quality Video (2007-?) • MPEG video at higher bit rates to give you the feeling of actually “being there”.

  9. Distributed Bridges (2011-?) • Distribute video MCU’s throughout ESnet network to optimize access.
