Legal background • Organizational/Legal framework for RIS established • Act on Inland Navigation and Inland Ports (NN 109/07, 132/07) • Regulation on River information services (NN 99/08, 8/11) • Regulation for allocation of name, mark and Unique • identification number of inland navigation vessels (NN 56/12) • - Signed contract among RIS-providers in order to enable international data exchange with logistical users of RIS (by AIW 2012.)

Established components of RIS • CRORIS portal • Gateway portal (Data Gateway) • NtS (Notices to Skippers), waterlevel • ERI (Electronic Reporting International) • Graphical gateway for commercial users for on-line TT of vessels on a Google Earth platform. • ENCs produced for the Danube, Drava & Sava Rivers • Other information relevant for Inland Navigation • Water levels of Danube, Drava and Sava with hourly update • General information of RIS

  9. RIS on Danube & Drava river • 100% of Croatian part of Danube and commercial part of Drava river covered with AIS signal • Full coverage of voice VHF radio • Cross-border implementation of joint projects HU-CRO CB-RIS, CB-RIS II, CoPO…

RIS on Sava river RIS on the Sava River – Cooperation Model • The project for Development of RIS on the Sava River is IPA funded project - ToR is prepared, full implementation of project is expected in the 2015. • AIS network, 7 locations • Integration into existing CroRIS system • Implementation of ERI system for the Sava waterway

RCC Regional control centers (Provided within Harbors Master’s Offices Sisak, Slavonski Brod, Osijek and Vukovar Regional RIS Centre Vukovar opened in January 2006.   14. NCC • The temporary RIS Training Centre was located at the Harbour Master’s Office Sisak in the vicinity of the future NCC building.

  15. NCC - Scope • Establishment and developing of RIS in Croatia • Contact point for all meters considering of RIS in Croatia • As competent authority of RIS projects in Croatia • As project partner in international RIS & IWT projects

Challenges for the Future • Danube AIS network infrastructure upgrade • Improvement of voice VHF coverage on the Danube waterway • NtS upgrade to the latest standard • Design and development of National HULL database - key element of electronic reporting (planed in 2013.) • RIS index development • Full RIS implementation & Voice VHF coverage on the Sava river waterway and obligation from 1st January 2015 following Rules on harmonized RIS on the Sava river basin • NCC full operalisation • Improve bilateral relationships • Improvingcross-border cooperation in the region • ApplyingEuropean standards in IWT • Promotinginland waterway transportation
