  2. Who Were The Vikings? The Vikings came from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. They were excellent ship builders and warriors too.

  3. Map Of The Viking World

  4. Everyday Viking Life • The Viking people were not all warriors, some were farmers and some were blacksmiths. Here is a picture of a Viking meal.

  5. Inside a Viking Longhouse • Viking Longhouses were usually one room, and in Winter the animals would come inside with the people.

  6. Viking Towns and Settlements • Viking towns were build from thatch and wood. • Most Viking buildings are gone now, but archaeologists have found the remains of some Viking buildings. • Here is a map of were • The Vikings lived.

  7. Clothing and Jewellery • Viking clothing had to be strong and • Light. • The jewellery was mainly broaches and rings.

  8. Brian Boru • Brian Boru was the high king • Of Ireland in 1014. • He was the king for 12 years • And was killed by a Viking • In his tent when he was 83 years old.

  9. Viking Sagas • Sagas were stories composed by the Vikings, were the reader had to think about what was happening.

  10. Longships • Viking longships had a keel that went right along the bottom of the ship. • Sometimes the Vikings were in a longship for months on end.

  11. Raiders • The Vikings raided in places all over the world. • People would bury anything of value to them, to stop the Vikings from stealing their belongings.

  12. Viking Religions When Vikings died in battle they went to a place called Valhalla, and Odin's daughters called the Valkeries would bring the dead warriors up to Valhalla.

  13. In the Viking world, when a Viking died in battle they would be guided Odin’s daughters, the Valkeries. Odin is the high god for the Vikings. Death & burial

  14. In the Viking times, all of their money was the same value, so the only way to get a different value was to get something sharp and cut the coin in two. Viking Money
